WellAssess is private well risk assessment tool mobile application. The app has been optimized for use on a tablet and may not perform as expected on a mobile phone. The WellAssess app allows for entering and maintaining data for multiple private well assessments and creating pdf report and csv data output files, which can be shared.
The original paper-based risk assessment tool outlined a comprehensive process for evaluating private well owner public health risks based on geology, well and well system construction, site factors, well owner practices, and nearby land use. This tool can also be used to assess springs used for private water supply. Thus, effective use of this app requires the user to have substantial private well experience. Both are designed to serve as a companion for one-on-one work with a well owner, as it is necessary to explain what the collected information means in relation to health and safety risks.
This tool is one of a kind and includes comprehensive criteria for evaluating the potential risks to public health and safety of the well user because of the team of experts that worked together to develop it.
